Malchus

Act VI — The ReturnSection 55 of 74

The Perfect Mirror

We can now return to the provocative phrase used in the Sacred Bridge corpus: Malchus as a perfect mirror of Ein Sof.

Taken literally as metaphysics, it would require qualification. Ein Sof transcends every Sefirah. Malchus is not the Infinite Essence compressed into a lower object.

But as spiritual architecture, the image is magnificent.

A mirror reflects best not by adding more of itself.

Its perfection is transparency.

A scratched mirror inserts distortion.

A coloured mirror modifies.

A shattered mirror fragments.

A clear mirror receives and returns.

This is Malchus.

The perfect mirror of Ein Sof would therefore not be a being claiming, “I am Ein Sof.”

That would be the destruction of the metaphor.

It would be a finite existence saying:

Nothing in me claims independence from the One.

Therefore everything in me can point toward the One.

This is the holiness of the finite.

Not becoming Infinite.

Revealing dependence upon Infinity without shame.
