A hollow form receives breath.
Breath becomes sound.
Sound rises and closes as a crown — built from below, never lowered onto a passive head.
הַיּוֹם הֲרַת עוֹלָם
“Today the world is conceived.”

Rosh Hashanah: Malchus Awakens From Below
On Rosh Hashanah the Jewish people do something philosophically astonishing: we crown Hashem.
The Gemara teaches regarding Malchuyos:
אמרו לפני מלכויות כדי שתמליכוני עליכם
“Recite before Me verses of kingship so that you make Me King over you” (Rosh Hashanah 16a).
Hashem requires no metaphysical promotion.
So what are we doing?
We are revealing Malchus from below.
The King is King.
The kingdom must recognise Him.
The sound of the shofar is especially fitting. Breath enters a hollow vessel and emerges as a cry.
The shofar contains no melody of its own.
It receives breath.
That emptiness becomes the vehicle of coronation.
Again:
leis lah m’garmah klum.
The emptiness is not the absence of sound.
It is what permits the sound to pass.
The whole person can become such a shofar.
Not empty of individuality.
Empty of obstruction.
