It may be its purification.

The immature self says:

I am because I made myself.

The frightened self says:

If Hashem is everything, I must be nothing.

Malchus discovers a third answer:

I am because Hashem desires that I be.

This preserves both unity and creation.

I am not independent of Him.

I am not identical with Him.

I exist in relation.

This is covenantal ontology.

And perhaps this is why Malchus is the final Sefirah.

You gave me existence.

I receive it.

I return it.

I will live it.
